Football in medieval times
So a few weeks ago, a couple of friends and I went over to Woods Park to throw the football around a little bit. When we got there though, there were a bunch of people dressed in medieval garb that were actually fighting each other with swords and lances and maces and the whole bit. They looked pretty authentic too, they had their shields with their coat of arms on it and helmets and chain mail and everything else that medieval people wore. It was kind of scary playing catch right next to them because there were sudden, loud crashes and clangs. It was rather intriguing, though, and pretty comedic, to be throwing a football 40 yards and looking over to see two armed knights going at it. I didn't know whether I should have asked them to play catch or challenge them to a dual, so I just decided against talking to them at all. But yea, just a weird little instance that I decided to share with all of you...

i was always taught never to challenge someone with a bigger, better weapon. a football is no match against a mace! plus there were a lot of them...i'm glad you kept your distance...
oh yeah, jim said he saw [what i assume is] the same group, on the capitol lawn or something.
